Meet the A.P.s

“Am I good enough? Yes I am.” – Michelle Obama
Welcome back to an exciting new school year at PS 131 Q.

I am excited to have the opportunity to support you on your educational journey towards helping your children reach their learning goals.

I believe that all students can learn—just not on the same day, and not in the same way. As a community, I am confident that together we can collaborate to continue giving children amazing opportunities to challenge their thinking and make it visible to those who can keep them on track toward their personal successes.

I am a proud product of the New York City public schools, from elementary school through college, attending schools throughout Queens.

I graduated from Queens College, where I earned all of my education and leadership licenses. I taught fifth grade for eleven years here in Queens and supported over 60 schools in NYC as a Teacher Effectiveness Coach for three years. I have been honored to serve as Assistant Principal at PS 131 since 2015. I am also the proud parent of twins who attend public elementary school! In my free time, I am an avid fan of music and love attending live concerts. At PS 131 Q, I serve as the Safety Coordinator, Testing Coordinator, and Direct Supervisor of 2nd and 3rd grade.

Please feel free to reach out whenever you need a thinking partner at any step of the way. It is my privilege to be considered part of your community and to be involved in the lifelong learning and daily lives of you and your children.

Sincerely,
Kelly Cintron
Assistant Principal

Welcome back P.S. 131 community!

What an exciting year – we are finally back under one roof and enjoying our beautiful extension. The 2022 – 2023 school year marks my first full year as the Assistant Principal and I am eager to continue to learn and grow with the P.S. 131 family!
As a teacher at P.S. 131 I took pride in establishing a sense of community in my classroom where my students felt comfortable taking risks in order to strive to be better than they were the day before. Now, as the Assistant Principal, I look forward to taking what I learned in the classroom and applying it to all stakeholders.
P.S. 131 is committed to educating each individual child by providing them with innovative and authentic experiences so that they become successful citizens of the world. I feel honored that I am taking the next step in my career with such a wonderful school that always strives to be better!

Sincerely,
Jennifer Isgro
Assistant Principal

Welcome to PS 131!

I am excited that my 16th year at P.S. 131 is underway and look forward to continuing to serve the P.S. 131 community! As we continue to keep student achievement as our top priority, we strive to meet every child where they are to ensure that our students experience success each and every day. We will all learn new things and discover strengths and skills that we did not know we had. We are all here to learn together. It is my goal to provide a safe and nurturing educational environment that challenges our students to become lifelong learners who will strive to make the world a better place.
At P.S. 131, my roles include being the COVID Coordinator and directly supervising 3K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade. At home, I am mommy to three boys, ages 14, 12 and 9. My husband and I enjoy spending our “free” time on the sports fields watching the boys play sports.
I look forward to an outstanding year of collaboration with all stakeholders, ensuring that our children flourish. I am excited about the possibilities this school year will bring and proud to be part of the P.S. 131 Family.
